Other Scenarios Covered by Medicare

Some people are not aware of the coverages that apply to them under Medicare and some of these are very necessary and worthwhile procedures or assistances. For you to be able to get the most of your Medicare coverage you need to know what can be covered and two, little known, coverage options are listed below. Here is a little more about Medicare in relation to ambulatory surgical centers and artificial limbs and eyes.

Ambulatory Surgical Centers

Medicare Part B covers approved surgical procedures provided in an ambulatory surgical center.
In 2011, You pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount. You pay all facility charges for procedures Medicare doesn’t cover in ambulatory surgical centers.

Artificial Limbs and Eyes
Medicare Part B covers artifi¬cial limbs and eyes when ordered by a doctor. In 2011, You pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount and you will be back to where you need to be with respect to your artificial limbs and eyes.

Though Medicare is not perfect and is always in need for reform, it can help you to get the services that you otherwise would not be able to get.
