Alternate Options for Medicare Advantage Plans

Different providers and plans are available on a multiple level if you are looking for other options for your Medicare coverage. The coverage itself may be basically the same, but with a Medicare Advantage Plan you are getting coverage through a private company instead of Medicare. This is to say that your Original Medicare coverage, Parts A and B, will be covered outside of Medicare.

Aside from the four main options with Medicare Advantage Plans, there are other less common types of Medicare Advantage Plans that may be available:

HMO Point-of-Service (HMOPOS) Plans: For a higher copayment or coinsurance this HMO plan could allow you to get some out-of-network options.

Medical Savings Account (MSA) Plans: You get a bank account to help you pay for coverage with this high-deductible plan. Usually less than the deductible is deposited, but Medicare deposits some money into the account for you. This money can be used by you to cover health care services during the year.
